OSI-PIA

OSI-PIA is an early-stage research and prototype ecosystem for understanding how human capability is evidenced, recognized, preserved, translated, and deployed across professional identity and organizational systems. Its working research connects capability evidence, skills-based hiring, ATS translation, open-skills and LER interoperability, organizational capability, and human-centered machine participation.

It begins with a central problem:

Organizations often lose or misread human capability because their systems are better at processing surface signals than understanding evidence.

The project is not a finished hiring product, employment-screening tool, or personnel-decision system.

Two connected lenses

PIA — Professional Identity Architecture focuses on the person-side of the system: helping a participant make evidence, experience, preparation, and capability visible without reducing them to a score or permanent label.

OSI — Organizational Systems Intelligence focuses on the organization-side: examining how conditions, relationships, and system state shape whether capability can be recognized and put to use.

Understand the System

Begin with the plain-language orientation, then use the overview and concept map to understand the project’s terms and structure.

See It Work

Follow a guided proof path through existing synthetic demonstrations and graph evidence. These materials show what the system can distinguish; they do not establish claims about real people or organizations.

Current status and boundaries

OSI-PIA is in active development. Public materials document the current research, evidence, assurance work, and prototype boundaries.

The project does not authorize production, public, or unsupervised real-participant processing, nor automatic consequential assessment, ranking, hiring, or exclusion decisions. Public demonstrations are synthetic or controlled; private participant evidence and restricted source material are not published here.

Explore by meta-topic

These six public meta-topics provide different entry points into the same coherent knowledge environment. They are navigation groupings, not new authority categories.

  • Capability and Professional Identity — PIA/PCA direction
  • Capability and Professional Identity — professional identity, demonstrated capability, capability evidence, capability inference, portable capability records, and PIA/PCA direction
  • Evidence-Grounded Evaluation — evidence provenance, evidence chains, confidence, bounded assessment, negative boundaries, synthetic evidence, and demonstrations
  • Hiring and Recruiting — skills-based hiring, recruiting, hidden workers, job searching, capability recognition, and public articles
  • ATS and Translation Failure — applicant tracking systems, ATS filters, resume translation, hiring false negatives, AI screening, and False Negative Machine and Hiring Translation
  • Organizational Capability — organizational systems, capability utilization, capability absorption, trust, flow, mobility, and what OSI is trying to measure
  • Human-Centered Machine Participation — machine orientation, source admission, provenance, temporal authority, epistemic stewardship, trustworthy AI, and research questions and methods and For Machines

Discoverability should improve semantic legibility, not distort project identity. Search language is used here to help readers find the work; it does not change the project’s boundaries or authorize automated hiring decisions.
